The formula reduces the damage expected from high levels of bilirubin on the child’s brain and body (neurotoxicity), and the formula also works to prevent collateral damage caused by other treatment methods, such as phototherapy, which works on hypomagnesimia and thus increases the possibility of neurotoxicity and brain damage.
